Two new episodes of the popular Team TotalEnergies series are now available online. This time, Adam Klimek and Patryk Mikiciuk drive a truck. Everything looks different from the cabin. Other topics are also covered. Adam and Patryk focused on Rubia oils and lubricants, which not only meet the requirements of Long Life service cycles, but also contribute to reducing fuel consumption by up to 1 l / 100 km!
The purpose for making new episodes was to draw more attention to the Rubia range. Rubia is present practically all over the world and for years has had an established position in the heaviest sector – trucks, buses, machines and mechanized equipment.
The new episodes feature the Rubia Tir 8900 FE 10W-30 oil, which belongs to the group of the so-called fuel-saving engine oils. It reduces frictional resistance in diesel engines to such an extent that it translates into lower demand for diesel fuel.
At first glance, the fuel savings of using fuel-efficient Rubia oil may appear to be modest, but it is in fact significant when used on a large scale in heavy transport. With fuel consumption of 25-45 l / 100 km and annual mileage of 100-150 thousand km or even more, such "insignificant" values accumulate to create a surprisingly large final outcome, additionally multiplied by the number of vehicles in use in the fleet.
How is it possible?
The key to fuel efficiency is the use of state-of-the-art anti-wear additives and friction modifiers in low-viscosity oil. This reduces friction while maintaining full protection of all sensitive engine components. It is extremely important that such additives are activated in places where there is high pressure, e.g., on the camshaft cams or at the contact point of the piston rings and cylinder liner in the bottom and top piston dead center.
The result of 20 years of experience
The latest fuel-saving oils allow fuel consumption to be reduced by 1.3%. This is the result of research by TotalEnergies laboratories, which presented the first fuel-saving oils over 20 years ago.
The efficiency of this technology is confirmed by the approval of many truck manufacturers and their own tests, e.g., on Mercedes engines: OM 611, OM 646 and OM 501 LA.
In the case of MB-Approval 228.51 the test results showed that the anti-wear properties of Rubia Tir 8900 FE 10W-30 oil exceed the standard considerably, and the wear of components is much lower than required.
Not only engine oils
Moreover, the use of Rubia lubricants for gearboxes and axles will allow for additional savings. TotalEnergies recommends FE (Fuel Eco) gear oils, such as Gear 9FE 75W-80 (for gearboxes) and Dual 9 FE 75 W-90 gear oil (for axles).
Even a liter per 100 km!
If you use the complete set of Rubia lubricants (engine oil, gear oil and bridge oil), it is possible to achieve total savings of up to 3% in fuel consumption, which may result in approx. 1 liters of fuel per 100 km, amounting to 1500 liters per year (assuming an annual mileage of 150,000 km).

About TotalEnergies Marketing Polska
TotalEnergies Marketing Polska has operated in Poland since 1992 and has an established position in the engine oil market. It offers products of two recognised brands, TotalEnergies and Elf. The company has also been rapidly developing the sale of asphalts and has been present on the market of industrial special fluids since 2008. In 2010, TotalEnergies Marketing Polska started imports and wholesale of fuels. In December 2014, the company launched its first petrol stations in Poland, thus entering the retail market. www.totalenergies.pl
