ELF and Signatech-Alpine have renewed their partnership in FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) racing until the end of 2023. The Alpine ELF Endurance Team will compete to win in the top-tier Hypercar class category during the 2022 season's six races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
ELF lubricants have been linked to Alpine's history in motorsports since 1968. Their partnership's notable wins include the World Rally Championship for Manufacturers in 1973 (six victories including Monte Carlo), the European Sports Car Championship (Manufacturer and Driver) in 1974 and the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1978.
Before capturing second place in the 2021 Hypercar World Endurance Championship, the Alpine ELF Endurance Team took home two European champion titles in the LMP2 category (2013 and 2014), two FIA WEC Endurance Trophies (2016 and 2019) and three victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2016, 2018 and 2019).
This year, the Alpine ELF Endurance Team, like all the teams competing in FIA World and European Endurance Championship races, will use Excellium Racing 100, the new 100% renewable fuel developed by TotalEnergies.
"ELF and Alpine have shared the same passion for technological excellence and racing for more than 50 years, and it gives our Company great satisfaction to extend ELF's commitment with Signatech and Alpine at the highest level of FIA World Endurance Championship racing," said Thierry Pflimlin, President of Marketing & Services at TotalEnergies. "This competition offers an ideal showcase for presenting the ELF lubricants range and the new 100% renewable fuel developed by TotalEnergies, known for performance, reliability, fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. Motorsports are part of ELF's DNA, as evidenced by more than 80 world titles, all disciplines combined."
"More than a partnership, the relationship of trust between ELF and Signatech-Alpine has created a real family spirit with shared values and ambitions," said Philippe Sinault, CEO of Signatech and Team Principal of the Alpine ELF Endurance Team. "For this reason, we are delighted to continue a partnership that will allow us, among darkening clouds, to leverage solid technical and sporting strengths as we take on the FIA World Endurance Championship challenge. The team is aiming for victory in 2022, starting with the season opener at Sebring in the United States on March 18."
