TotalEnergies actively participates in developing the transport sector and introduces the Rubia Optima range of state-of-the-art truck oils. In terms of technical and quality parameters this is a completely new market level, certified through the API CK-4 standard, as well as a number of latest approvals from such manufacturers as Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Mack & Cummins.
The range of Rubia Optima products employs the Inno-Boost technology. The composition of the oil contains additives with an appropriate anti-oxidant combination. These active molecules inhibit the formation of oxidation radicals and preserve intact hydrocarbon chains. In consequence, engine oil viscosity remains stable and preserves oil properties for a prolonged period. This significantly impacts engine service life, its power, cleanliness, fuel consumption and exhaust gas treatment system protection.

Rubia Optima 3500 FE 5W-30: a whole new level
The Rubia Optima 3500 FE 5W-30 oil is particularly recommended for the latest Euro VI and VId engines. They are installed in the truck and bus engines of most international manufacturers, such as Mercedes Benz, Scania, MAN, Volvo, DAF, Iveco, Renault, Ford, etc.
Below you can find a comparison of the latest Rubia Optima 3500 FE 5W-30 oil with its predecessor, the Rubia TIR 9900 FE 5W-30:

Choosing the right composition
What worked in older engines is no longer suitable for newer ones, equipped with advanced exhaust gas treatment systems containing a DPF particulate filter and an SCR catalytic converter. The aforementioned anti-corrosion additives are harmful to these elements. This required finding a different oil composition, which would not only ensure engine anti-corrosion protection, but also care for the exhaust gas treatment systems. This challenge was faced by a new product – Rubia Optima 3500 FE 5W-30. The oil exhibits a very high LZ = 13, while still satisfying the standards for LOW SAPS oils. This means that its carefully selected composition will ensure a long service life of the DPF particulate filter, SCR catalytic converter, as well as excellent drive unit protection.
“For many years we have been witnessing a tendency to, kind of, “downsize” truck engines, which had been known from passenger cars. 16 L engines are replaced by 13 L, without loss of power, torque or service life reduction. Unfortunately, this results in a considerable increase in oil oxidation tendency, hence, constitutes a challenge for lubricant manufacturers. Satisfying the rigorous and demanding API CK-4 standard means jumping to a whole new level of quality. The Rubia Optima FE 3500 5W-30 oil helps to actually reduce fuel consumption, which is of enormous significance in the “truck segment” and its typically related mileages. Another important aspect is the compatibility of these oils with the latest engine designs, where viscosity-related, soot dispersion and maintaining oxidation resistance are extremely important. Rubia Optima range oils play a very important role on the market, since they meet the requirements of most leading truck manufacturers, but are also suitable for older engines. This enables them to satisfy the demand of entire multi-brand fleets, which gradually replace their vehicles with newer ones.”
