The TotalEnergies oil range includes the Quartz Xtra, Quartz Ineo, Quartz 9000, and Quartz 7000 series, which are the most popular among drivers and repair shops. Each of them meets strict quality requirements and has been designed for specific engine types and operating conditions.
With over 70 years of experience in working with oil bases, additives, and modern formulations, Quartz oils meet even the most demanding OEM standards. Each product undergoes advanced laboratory and operational testing, and the approvals obtained confirm full compatibility with specific engine brands.
How to navigate the TotalEnergies offer?
- Quartz Xtra,
- Quartz Ineo,
- Quartz 9000,
- Quartz 7000,
- Quartz 5000.
Quartz Xtra, Quartz Ineo, Quartz 9000, and Quartz 7000 currently account for the largest share of sales. Knowing the basic differences between these series allows you to better understand the offer before referring to detailed approvals or the oil selection configurator available on the TotalEnergies website.
Quartz Xtra – a breakthrough in the protection of modern engines

The new standards place extremely stringent requirements on lubricants in terms of engine protection and energy efficiency. Quartz Ineo Xtra EC6 0W-20 oil ensures, among other things, higher fuel economy and reduced CO₂ emissions, improved piston cleanliness and oxidation resistance, protection against LSPI throughout its service life, as well as reduced timing chain wear and improved pumpability at low temperatures.
Compatibility with modern exhaust gas treatment systems is also an important factor. Quartz Ineo Xtra EC6 0W-20 has a reduced sulfate ash content, which promotes the proper operation of GPF particulate filters. The oil has also undergone new gelation tests and extended seal compatibility tests.
It is worth remembering that products that meet API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 standards can also be used in engines that require earlier standards.
Quartz Ineo – protection for modern exhaust gas treatment systems

Thanks to Age-Resistance technology, Quartz Ineo oils form a durable oil film that effectively protects engine components from wear and oxidation, even at extreme temperatures.
The most important features of the Quartz Ineo series are: high oxidation resistance, fuel economy, Low SAPS formula compliance, and a wide range of OEM approvals. The range is available in 0W-30, 5W-20, 5W-30, and 5W-40 viscosity grades.
Quartz 9000 – high-quality oils manufactured using synthetic technology

Quartz 9000 oils, also based on Age-Resistance technology, provide a high level of wear protection, stability at high temperatures, and very good performance during frequent starts. The Quartz 9000 series features excellent oxidation protection, fuel economy, Low SAPS compatibility, and OEM approvals.
This range is available in five viscosity grades: 0W-20, 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-30, and 5W-40. In addition, this group includes two special oils – Quartz Racing 10W-50 and 10W-60 – designed for sports cars or cars with above-average loads.
Quartz 7000 – cleanliness of the drive unit in older designs

The most important features of the Quartz 7000 series include: high engine cleanliness, compliance with the Normal SAPS formula, and OEM approvals.
Summary
In simple terms:
- Quartz Xtra are the most advanced synthetic oils for modern gasoline engines, meeting the latest API and ILSAC standards.
- Quartz Ineo are synthetic oils for modern engines with particulate filters.
- Quartz 9000 are synthetic oils for engines without DPF.
- Quartz 7000 are semi-synthetic oils for older designs, focused on keeping the engine clean.
