TotalEnergies is actively participating in the development of the transportation sector and is launching a state-of-the-art range of Rubia OPTIMA truck oils. One of the latest products is TotalEnergies Rubia Optima 3100 10W-40, which will replace the existing Rubia 8900 10W-40 oil soon. In terms of technical and quality parameters, it is a completely new level on the market, confirmed by the latest specifications: API CK-4, ACEA E8 and E11 as well as a number of the latest producer’s approvals from Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Mack and Cummins.
The new API CK-4, ACEA E8 and E11 specifications significantly tighten quality requirements for engine oils.
To meet the above requirements, the Rubia OPTIMA product range uses advanced Inno-Boost Technology. Additives containing the right combination of antioxidants were used in the oil formulation. These active molecules inhibit the formation of oxidation radicals and keep the hydrocarbon chains intact. As a result, the viscosity of the engine oil remains stable and maintains the properties of the oil for a longer period. This significantly affects engine life, power, cleanliness, fuel economy and exhaust aftertreatment system protection.
With API CK-4 + ACEA E8, E11 specifications and the highest approval, Rubia Optima 3100 10W-40 has a very wide range of applications. Meeting the diverse requirements of many engine manufacturers, it is easily suitable for use in servicing entire fleets of the latest trucks. It also effectively replaces, proven lubricants, such as the very popular Rubia TIR 8900 10W-40 oil.
Rubia Optima 3100 10W-40 is a completely new level of quality compared to the currently existing oil in the Rubia TIR 8900 10W-40 range.
Rubia OPTIMA 3100 10W-40 oil is especially recommended for the latest Euro VI, VId engines. These are installed by most international truck and bus engine manufacturers, such as Mercedes Benz, Scania, MAN, Volvo, DAF, Iveco, Renault, Ford, etc. The product is also as compatible as possible with older engines and EURO IV and V exhaust after-treatment systems.

„For many years we have been observing, previously known from passenger cars, a trend towards a kind of „downzising” of truck engines. 16L engines are being replaced by 13L engines. Now even 10.5L engines have power and torque like the larger engines of the previous generation. Unfortunately, this results in an increase in their thermal load and a significant increase in the tendency of oil to oxidize and thus poses a challenge for lubricant manufacturers. This is why the latest designs have such high oil requirements. Meeting the rigorous and demanding API CK-4 or ACEA E8 and E11 standards is to enter a new level of quality. Rubia OPTIMA 3100 10W-40 oil helps to realistically use maximum mileage between changes without compromising engine life. Meeting the requirements of most leading truck manufacturers, and suitable for older engines, these oils cover the needs of entire multi-brand fleets that are successively replacing their vehicles with newer ones.”
